Donate to Support the Lowell Historical Society

Supporting the Lowell Historical Society guarantees the preservation of Lowell’s history and helps to provide access to Lowell’s past through archives and artifacts. Gifts to the LHS help us to continue fulfilling our mission of collecting, preserving and sharing unique items in Lowell’s past. Donations will also help support special projects undertaken by the LHS including exhibits, publications, and community workshops. Donate now to help guarantee maintenance of Lowell’s history.

Would you like to donate an item?

The Lowell Historical Society actively collects archival materials related to the history of the City of Lowell, its mills, and institutions and organizations within the city. LHS collects materials from all time periods and is welcoming to personal papers, diaries, organizational records, mill information, postcards, and photographs. Please note that we DO NOT currently collect any newspapers. For artifacts, we request that you submit information about the item, its provenance, and its relationship to Lowell. We have limited storage space for artifacts, so the board designees will need to evaluate the item before accepting. Please contact the Historical Society using the form below before sending us any material so that we can confirm that its meets the LHS Collecting Policy. For items approved, donors are asked to complete the Deed of Gift form to mail with your item.
